Kristen Anne Bell is an American actor and singer born in 1980. Bell is an Michigan native who was born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her birthplace was in Huntington Woods, Michigan and was raised by a Polish mother and father that is German, English Irish, Scottish as well as Irish. Kristen realized her potential in the entertainment industry when she was just a teenager. She went to her audition in 1992 and was offered an appearance on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell had an agent appointed by her mother at the age 13 and she was subsequently hired as a model on television and newspaper commercials. In addition to having private lessons, she began her acting career in the year 2000. Bell had a minor role, uncredited for her part in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell participated in the Drama and Music Club at Shrine Catholic High School. She was cast as Dorothy in the high-school production of The Wizard of Oz. Bell then moved in New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student at the Tisch School of the Arts. Bell, who graduated in 2001, decided to leave her studies at the university to play her role as Becky on Tom Sawyer. She made her first film credit with Pootie Tang at the beginning of 2001. However, her scene, was trimmed and now her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell was on Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
